Lebron Zoom Soldier

One of the best shoes I have played in this year is the Lebron Soldier III.  Dual Zoom Air cushioning units plus industrial strength lockdown with two velcro straps across the top of the foot ensure that this is a real game shoe.  You can rule the slab, hardwood and neighborhood in the Nike Zoom Soldier III.  NBA superstar Lebron played in these shoes in last years playoffs.  The quality design and lightweight strength match his style of play.  These attributes have lengthened the product life of the the Nike Zoom Soldier III which has now become on of this years best nike team shoes.  Now offered in more than a dozen colors, the Lebron Soldier gains strength from the combination full-grain and synthetic leather upper.

The lockdown straps located on the top of the forefoot and medial ankle regions secure the foot snugly.   This basketball shoe is great for both guards and power players with high-performance no matter how hard you slice or how powerful you takeoff.

The ZS III provides comfort and ankle support for extended periods while running the floor and finding the open man all game long.  The shoe profile is fairly slender and may cause a little forefoot discomfort during initial wearings.  Strength in the shoe upper is created by a solid toe cap and triple stitched seams on the primary support sections.  The Bron Bron Soldier is definitely not designed for just hanging out or chilling out without lacing because the velcro straps have to be secured across the top of the foot or they will snag the laces and nylon upper.

Lebron Soldier III Sole

The sole of the Soldier III is lacking an arch support graphite or plastic shank which allows the shoe to almost fold in half without your foot in it…  This may create longevity issues as the sole breaks in after several wearings.  The outsole has a unique square block pattern that contains non-traditional expanded herringbone which provides great traction which also includes a solid edge all the way around the sole perimeter.

Nike Hypermax - Air Max + Hyperdunk

Combine the 08 Team Elite Max and the Hyperdunk and what do you get? A heavy sole with a lite upper? Maybe… The new Hypermax supports all the way around: Superior support of your ankle; Superior cushioning.

The hypermax is a lighter than normal (for an air max), high performance and high support basketball shoe. While the extreemly high cut can chafe those ankle sock only wearers… the crew cut or higher players will have no problems.

The hypermax reminds me of the air max 360 – David Robinsons… you know – the one with the pump. Isnt that what they were called?

Here are a couple great vids on the Lebron VI… Even with its street boot like appearance the Lebron 6 is amazingly lite. New high tech composite materials create strength and support without bulk and weight. The Lebron VI is one of the great new all around performers that will support both the big men and the lighting quick high leapers. The upcoming Lebron Soldier and new Kevin Durant (kd) also use similar new composites and sole structures.

Increase Your Verticle Jump

Monday, May 18th, 2009

There are several ways to increase your vertical jump! Every basketball player has dreamed of jumping just a little bit higher! If you can touch the rim, you want to dunk… if you can dunk, you want to windmill… if you can windmill, you want to dunk on an 11 foot rim… :) And of course – everybody wants to posterize somebody!

There are several products out there that help you jump higher and increase your verticle leap. Strength training systems and Jumpsoles are the primary products that basketball players can easily add a couple of inches. Both come with a DVD and training regiment that will help the athlete. Weight training and plyometrics also help the athelete attain more air and speed and agility.

If you want to fly high – try out these strength training shoes. The shoes speak for themselves… “JUMP HIGHER. RUN FASTER. GUARANTEED.”

Hype the Hyperdunk by Nike

Saturday, October 4th, 2008

Ok – You have spoken! I checked out our site analytics(statistics) today… Hyperdunk is by far the most searched term on our site. I’m going to give you what you crave… >> a full review of the Nike Hyperdunk complete with analysis of the new Flywire, Flyfit and Lunarlite technologies deployed in Kobe’s – Nike’s newest high tech product.

Nike has now realeased the Nike Hyperdunk TB – team edition in multiple colorways (seen below). Just in time for the upcoming 2008-2009 college NCAA and highschool basketball season.

Kobe's Nike Hyperdunk in white, silver, black colorway

Here are some quick Definitions for the technology deployed in the Hyperdunk:

Nike LunarLite

Nike’s new(2008) LunarLite foam is lighter than standard Phylon by at least 30% and it provides springy cushioning for your foot. Lunarlite is normally encased in a Phylite/Phylon midsole delivering cushioning that’s soft and not too mushy like double stack zoom-air. It distibutes impact force more evenly and helps reduce pressure points common in basketball shoes.

Nike’s Flywire Technology

Flywire(2008) creates a new lightweight support mechanizm for your foot. Thin fibers of Nylon are strategically placed on the upper of the shoe to hold the foot in place, providing lateral and lockdown support around your foot. Flywire allows for significant reduction in weight – replacing commonly used heavier upper materials like full grain leather.

Flyfit

Nike’s Flyfit employs Flywire technology for creating a comfortable supportive upper that is much lighter than typical upper construction materials.

The BBII is one of those great shoes that just keeps on giving.

Read the full Nike Zoom BBII Review here. The Nike Air Zoom BBII posesses the latest in materials, comfort and design. The BBII is one of those great shoes that just keeps on giving. They quietly provide ultimate comfort and support in a Tim Duncan manner. They simply do the J.O.B. without reminding you that they are even there…

While they appear to have an extremely low profle sole, they possess the hidden full cushion and support needed to pad big men. They are also low to the ground and light giving lightning quick response through the full length zoom air unit.
