In celebration of American culture and some of the communities whom have shaped its identity, Nike Sportswear takes two of its basketball icons, the Big Nike and the Nike Blazer, to create a pack that honors those chosen cities. Long Beach, New York, Chicago, and Atlanta are the starting point for this collection of footwear, inspired by the cultural cues that makes them legendary. Using the colors of the cities’ sport icons and their spirit of style, this pack shows what it means to rep your hood. The Big Nike and Nike Blazer City Pack is available now. Nike Sportswear at 21 Mercer is the only retailer in the US to receive the complete pack. Each regions’ style is available exclusively in the city featured on the shoe.

Nike applied raw selvage, one of the more cleaner, sleek-looking denim types to the infamous Blazer. The contrast stitching throughout the base obviously symbolizes the clean inseams that are associated with the rich-looking denim. Besides the premium leather denim base, this shoe also possesses a red border around the tongue.  Get these now at Politics

Nike Hypermax - Air Max + Hyperdunk

Combine the 08 Team Elite Max and the Hyperdunk and what do you get? A heavy sole with a lite upper? Maybe… The new Hypermax supports all the way around: Superior support of your ankle; Superior cushioning.

The hypermax is a lighter than normal (for an air max), high performance and high support basketball shoe. While the extreemly high cut can chafe those ankle sock only wearers… the crew cut or higher players will have no problems.

The hypermax reminds me of the air max 360 – David Robinsons… you know – the one with the pump. Isnt that what they were called?

Hype the Hyperdunk by Nike

Saturday, October 4th, 2008

Ok – You have spoken! I checked out our site analytics(statistics) today… Hyperdunk is by far the most searched term on our site. I’m going to give you what you crave… >> a full review of the Nike Hyperdunk complete with analysis of the new Flywire, Flyfit and Lunarlite technologies deployed in Kobe’s – Nike’s newest high tech product.

Nike has now realeased the Nike Hyperdunk TB – team edition in multiple colorways (seen below). Just in time for the upcoming 2008-2009 college NCAA and highschool basketball season.

Kobe's Nike Hyperdunk in white, silver, black colorway

Here are some quick Definitions for the technology deployed in the Hyperdunk:

Nike LunarLite

Nike’s new(2008) LunarLite foam is lighter than standard Phylon by at least 30% and it provides springy cushioning for your foot. Lunarlite is normally encased in a Phylite/Phylon midsole delivering cushioning that’s soft and not too mushy like double stack zoom-air. It distibutes impact force more evenly and helps reduce pressure points common in basketball shoes.

Nike’s Flywire Technology

Flywire(2008) creates a new lightweight support mechanizm for your foot. Thin fibers of Nylon are strategically placed on the upper of the shoe to hold the foot in place, providing lateral and lockdown support around your foot. Flywire allows for significant reduction in weight – replacing commonly used heavier upper materials like full grain leather.

Flyfit

Nike’s Flyfit employs Flywire technology for creating a comfortable supportive upper that is much lighter than typical upper construction materials.
